History and Interesting Facts: L’Aleaugust Cru was born in 2012 from a collaboration between Augusto Zuffa and Alessandro Marchionni. Chef Alessandro, who operates throughout Italy, was looking for a wine with smooth and delicate characteristics, with notes of tobacco and pink peppercorns, to offer his guests at banquets. So Alessandro (“Ale”) and Augusto (“August”) came together to develop a new wine – the combination of cuisine and wine was a resounding success, so much so that “L’Aleaugust” became the best-selling product in Italy, China, the United States, and Europe. It contains no added sulfites and no complex chemicals, which are responsible for the typical “after-morning headache.”
